Weddings in Canmore
Canmore is one of the most sought-after wedding destinations in the Canadian Rockies, offering a blend of rustic charm, modern mountain venues, and incredible outdoor ceremony locations surrounded by peaks and forest.
As a Canmore wedding photographer, I’ve had the chance to work in many of the area’s most beautiful venues and ceremony sites, each offering a very different experience depending on your vision, guest count, and the type of atmosphere you’re hoping to create.
For couples dreaming of a rustic-chic mountain wedding venue, Silvertip Resort is a favourite for its elevated outdoor ceremony gazebo and sweeping mountain views. Stewart Creek Golf & Country Club is another popular choice, especially with its covered white tented ceremony space that offers peace of mind in case of unpredictable mountain weather.
For a more modern and elevated mountain wedding experience, The Malcolm Hotel offers a beautiful contemporary venue in the heart of Canmore, with a stylish design and flexible indoor and outdoor ceremony spaces suitable for both intimate weddings and larger celebrations.
Cornerstone Theatre & Event Sites is a versatile option offering multiple venue spaces in one location, including The Ranch, The Vista, and Tree Island at the Nordic Centre. It’s ideal for couples who want an all-in-one wedding experience with coordination, catering, décor, and entertainment options.
For smaller, more intimate weddings, I often recommend The Bear and Bison Inn and The Creekside Villa, both offering cozy, warm atmospheres surrounded by forest and mountain scenery.
Outdoor Ceremony Locations in Canmore
For couples looking for a more natural outdoor ceremony setting, the Town of Canmore also offers designated wedding ceremony locations that can be reserved through the municipality.
Quarry Lake is one of the most iconic options, known for its dramatic mountain backdrop and turquoise water. It offers a natural, open setting surrounded by peaks and is one of the most popular outdoor ceremony locations in the area.
Rundleview Parkette is another beautiful option with elevated views over Canmore and surrounding mountains. It offers a more intimate grassy setting that still feels connected to the landscape while being slightly tucked away.
These outdoor ceremony sites are first-come, first-served through the Town of Canmore reservation system and are not privately owned venues, which means they offer a more natural and open-air experience. Couples looking for these locations typically secure them directly through the Town of Canmore.
Whether you’re planning a large celebration or a small intimate ceremony, Canmore offers an incredible variety of wedding locations that combine mountain scenery with accessibility and flexibility.
